Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for over 45 years, focusing on human suffering in areas of conflict and natural disasters. Curry has covered wars throughout the world, including in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19, 1956 in Agana) is an American anchor, television reporter as well as a journalist. Her father was a U.S. Navy sailor. The couple met when her father was in Japan after World War II. Her father served serving in the military, and her family moved frequently. The family eventually settled in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. She earned a journalism diploma from the University of Oregon in 1978. In Medford where she began her broadcasting career as an KTVL Channel 10 intern. at the age of 22, she became the station's initial female news anchor. Later, she became an anchor/reporter at KGW located in Portland Oregon. After moving to Los Angeles, she became reporter at KCBS TV within four years of having moved to the city.
